Business School School requires Business Development Manager

The position of Business Development Manager is to develop and generate new business opportunities. The main responsibility of a Business Development Manager is to manage, support, and supervise the business development department. This department is responsible for the acquisition of new projects and project bids. The business development department mainly supports management by providing analysis for evaluating new business opportunities. Key Performance Areas o Developing systems, policies and procedures to ensure consistent academic quality. o Clarify goals and reach agreement maintaining the interests of all parties o Prepare course materials, schedules and assessments o Confirming appointments with training facilitators/Managers o Ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards o Lead the team in the development of company policies o Proactively develops and improve products and services o Understands clients’ needs and strategically thinking o Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clients o Negotiating, drafting up and costing of proposals o Project Managing the course, sourcing a facilitator, venue hire, catering, course notes, course packs and assessments and invoicing o Working very close with SETAs to generate revenue Other duties and responsibilities: o Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets and to follow the set strategy punctually o Manage the proposal development process and maintain the time-lines for the proposal teams o Coordinate with sponsors concerning size, standards, conditions and timing of research o Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions o Maintain the Business Development databases o Support marketing activities

Job Requirements: 

Qualification A candidate for a Business Development position requires a bachelors degree in a related discipline and extensive experience in the relevant field. Other duties and responsibilities: o Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets and to follow the set strategy punctually o Manage the proposal development process and maintain the time-lines for the proposal teams o Coordinate with sponsors concerning size, standards, conditions and timing of research o Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions o Maintain the Business Development databases o Support marketing activities • Other skills: • – Good communication skills • – Understanding of the education sector and SETAs • – Analytical and creative thinker • – Effective Management skills (Manage Projects) • – Excellent organisational skills • – Experience in Education institution will be an advantage • – Must have managed a team previously
